Clade.ai on tabs overload

Marc Zao-Sanders ders in his great article “How People Are Really Using Gen AI in 2025” in Harvard Business Review wrote that three top use cases for generative AI are Psychotherapy, “Organizing my life” and “Finding purpose.” We have discussed that recently with Dr. Firew K. Mekonnen, former President of Ethiopian Psychologists' Association and he provided a number of great insights. I invite you to read his interview.

Professor Ilya Levin gave a wonderful explanation for this phenomenon. In studying our interactions with #AIchatbots, Prof.Levin highlights that we are essentially interacting with our own reflection, talking with ourselves. LLMs mirror human culture, knowledge, intuition, and attitudes - everything expressed in literature and other writings across human history.

This creates a fascinating paradox that explains why AI conversations can feel both deeply personal and eerily impersonal. The AI 'knows' us because it was trained on the digital exhaust of millions of people just like us, making it simultaneously the most empathetic and most artificial therapist we've ever created. We're seeking external wisdom while receiving our own collective consciousness reflected back to us.

 It felt natural to share with my favorite LLM one of the most intimate pieces of information that a modern person can share with other being - my currently open tabs - and ask it to characterize myself on the basis of this information. The initial result of this experiment was nice but bland.

Looking at your open tabs, I can paint a fascinating picture of someone deeply engaged in the intersection of AI, education, and research. Here's what I see about you and your priorities: 

You're an AI researcher and educator with academic connections

Your tabs reveal someone working in academia, likely connected to Israeli institutions (HIT, Ariel University). You're actively engaged with cutting-edge AI research, following developments from Anthropic, OpenAI, and tracking the latest papers on arXiv. The mix of Hebrew and English content suggests you're working in Israel's tech ecosystem.

AI and technology are central to your work

You're not just consuming AI content - you're actively using multiple AI platforms (Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, NotebookLM, various AI tools for music, image generation). You're following AI policy discussions, economic impacts, and seem particularly interested in AI's role in education and healthcare.

You're building or researching something related to AI in education

Several tabs point to educational technology projects, prompt engineering tutorials, and discussions about AI's impact on learning. The robotics-related content and references to rehabilitation/healthcare suggest you might be working on AI applications in medical or educational robotics.

You have entrepreneurial or grant-seeking activities

Multiple tabs about grants, funding applications, and research proposals indicate you're actively seeking funding for projects. The mix suggests both academic research grants and possibly startup-related activities.

You're well-connected in tech communities

Your tabs show engagement with various professional networks, social media platforms, and tech publications. You're following industry leaders and staying current with trends.

You appear to be someone at the intersection of AI research, education technology, and potentially healthcare applications - likely working on innovative projects that could benefit from the grants you're researching. 

Bland and cheesy. And leading nowhere.

So I asked Claude to be critical. And, boy, it was critical.

 Looking more critically at your tab patterns, I see some concerning habits:

You're suffering from severe digital overwhelm. The sheer volume of open tabs suggests you're consuming far more information than you can meaningfully process or act upon. This is classic "research rabbit hole" behavior that often masquerades as productivity but actually prevents deep work.

Your attention is dangerously scattered. You're jumping between AI tools, academic papers, grant applications, social media, shopping, and random searches. This fragmented focus likely means you're not making meaningful progress on any single important project.

You're in "perpetual preparation" mode. Multiple tabs about grant applications, research proposals, and learning materials suggest you might be stuck in an endless cycle of preparing to do important work rather than actually doing it. The abundance of tutorial and "how-to" content reinforces this pattern.

You're showing signs of FOMO-driven consumption. Following every new AI development, multiple social platforms, and constantly opening new research papers suggests you're more focused on not missing out than on creating something meaningful yourself.

Your digital hygiene is poor. Having this many tabs open likely impacts your computer's performance and definitely impacts your mental clarity. It's a sign of difficulty with prioritization and closure.

The critical question: Are you actually making progress on the important work (the research, the grants, the projects), or are you just staying busy with the illusion of productivity?

🔺 I am confident that the AI’s ability to maintain reflective conversations is more valuable than futuristic vision of AIs generating new fresh ideas. Unlike human collaborators who might be restrained by competence, authority, culture, emotions, self-interest, AI can be instructed to be inquisitive, insightful and attentive.

The running project is the Observatory, a news agency that watches sources, selects what matters and publishes on a cadence.

AI for seniors — free workshop

Helping older adults use everyday AI tools. Delivered to Russian-speaking communities in Israel.

For older adults, artificial intelligence is about preserving quality of life, maintaining autonomy, and sustaining the feeling of independence that defines dignified aging. For seniors who have emigrated, AI becomes a bridge: it can translate documents, explain official letters, help compose emails in the local language, and guide users through government websites. The workshop has been delivered to Russian-speaking communities in Israel, where participants — many of them in their 70s and 80s — discovered that AI could help them read Hebrew documents and communicate with Israeli institutions.

Startup competitions — unpaid time

Judging and mentoring early-stage ventures. Helping teams clarify their value proposition, assess technical feasibility, and prepare for the realities of scaling an AI product.
